About Us

If we had to tell you one thing about us, it would be that we are thankful. Thankful that we found each other in this big world, and thankful of our love for each other. We are so excited to be getting married and looking forward to sharing the rest of our lives together as a married couple. We met on Match.com, which could not be more fitting for us (both somewhat uncomfortable being set up on dates and having a hard time finding the right person who shared our interests and values). Nick was on several dating sites for about a year before we got matched up, but I was only on Match.com for a week or so before he first contacted me! In late April of 2010 we started emailing, and that quickly turned into texting and talking on the phone. Unfortunately we were not able to meet in person until June because of the distance (I was living in Paradise Valley and Nick was in Queen Creek) as well as massively different schedules. Nick worked normal human hours, and I worked an awful night shift. Our first official date was at Oregano’s, and in a truly ‘us’ fashion, we ended up at separate locations due to a hilarious miscommunication. As always, Nick was a gentleman and made the trip to the location I was at. When we first started talking, we knew this was going somewhere as we were both talking on the phone and texting each other an absurd amount. We never wanted to get off the phone! Even while I was on vacation in Hawaii, right before I had even meet Nick in person, I was sitting on a beach with my family and best friend, but texting him and thinking about him. And once we had our first real date together, there was an instant connection and familiarity. It didn’t take long for each of us to completely merge with the other’s life, including meeting family and friends, and we have been attached at the hip ever since! I moved into Nick’s apartment in October of 2010 and then we bought our first house together in February 2012.

These (nearly) five years spent together have been an absolute blast, and we are so excited to be married. We cannot wait to spend the wedding day surrounded by the people that we love. In the coming years we hope to travel more as a couple, visit more family, read more books, and play more video games! We look forward to creating a lifetime of memories together, especially with you – our family and friends!

The Proposal

Her side: On a normal Friday night in November 2013, Nick popped the question! I knew it was coming for a while by the way he was acting and subtle hints that were dropped. It was a rainy night, which is rare in Arizona, especially one not during the Monsoon season. Knowing how much I love the rain, Nick “proposed” we step outside and enjoy it. After a few moments, he went back inside the house and I could hear him rustling through his laptop bag, which I thought was weird. When he came back outside I was holding his arm and could feel his pulse racing. We kissed in the rain and then all of a sudden he got down on one knee and proposed! It was one of the happiest moments of my life. How many women in Phoenix can say they got proposed to in the rain?

His side: I was searching online for rings for a while, and the stupid Shane Co commercials were stuck in my head so I started looking through their website. I found what I thought was the perfect ring and sent it to Amanda for her opinion, and she agreed that Christina would love it. One day during work I went “just to look” – I didn’t plan on buying anything that day. Once I saw it, I knew it was perfect. The ring wouldn’t be ready for pick-up for a few days, and I was anxious to get it as I was planning on proposing on the weekend. On Friday it was ready, and I drove out to Scottsdale in pretty heavy rain. I told Christina I was stuck at work on a project and would be home late. On the long drive home, I had time to think and decided I couldn’t wait until the weekend, and was contemplating proposing that night. I had big proposal plans but ultimately thought a simple, heartfelt proposal would be best. I’m glad she said yes!

Amanda Harvey, Maid of Honor

Amanda and I have been friends since 7th grade, which is more than half our lives! She's been with me through thick and thin. She's like a sister to me; on many occasions, people have mistaken us for sisters. I always knew that I wanted Amanda to be my maid of honor because she's my best friend and I know she will always be there for me.

Nolan White, Best Man

While Nolan and I had serveral classes together at Arizona State University, it wasn't until we both worked at the computer lab help desk that we started to become friends. Eventually we interned at the same company and graduated together in 2010. Nolan is a great friend and I'm glad he can be my best man.

Nicole DeOcampo

Nicole is my youngest sister and while we were not friends growing up, as adults we are closer than ever. When we were kids, we could barely live in the same house together but now we see each other every day at work in the office we share. I'm so happy we've grown closer and I couldn't image a wedding without her.

Christopher Russo

Chris and I met in elementry school and have been friends ever since. We remained good friends throughout middle and high school and even though I moved across the country we are still very close. Everytime Christina and I go back to Connecticut for a visit we pick right back up where we left off.
